2012-13 NFC East Odds to Win
(The Spread) – Even though the current defending Super Bowl champion is in the division, oddsmakers have installed the Philadelphia Eagles as the favorites to win the NFC East this year.
Oddsmakers currently list the Eagles as +150 money line favorites to win the NFC East Division in 2012-13, while the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants are +200. The Dallas Cowboys are listed right behind the Giants at +250 on the money line, while the Washington Redskins are the current long shots at +750 to win the NFC East.
The Cowboys made one of the bigger splashes in free agency when they reached a five-year deal with former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Brandon Carr. Dallas also invested its first round pick in 2012 on LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne, so the mission was clear for Jerry Jones this offseason: Improve the beleaguered secondary.
The Eagles were active in free agency as well, although they had to be after they lost offensive tackle Jason Peters to a season-ending injury earlier this offseason. They signed Demetress Bell to replace him and also re-upped with guard Evan Mathis to help keep the O-line intact. Philadelphia had one of the more impressive drafts as well, landing Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox in the first round, California linebacker Mychal Kendricks in round two and Marshall defensive end Vinny Curry in the second.
Speaking of the draft, the Redskins made the boldest move by trading three first-round picks to the Rams in exchange for the No. 2 overall pick, which they used to select Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. Griffin is expected to start as a rookie, and the Skins did well to get him another target to throw to in former Colt receiver Pierre Garcon. (Former 49er wide out Josh Morgan was also signed.)
Last but certainly not least, the Giants weren’t very active in free agency but they did re-sign cornerback Terrell Thomas and added Martellus Bennett (Cowboys) and Shaun Rogers (Saints). They had a very productive draft as well, landing Virginia Tech running back David Wilson in the first and LSU wideout Rueben Randle in the second.
2013 NFC East Division Odds to Win

New York Giants +200
Dallas Cowboys +250
Washington Redskins +750
