Denver Broncos DFS Spin
DNRV Broncos’ Zac Stevens believes the Broncos want to keep Russell Wilson in the pocket this season. Entering his age-33 season, Wilson has seen his rushing attempts fall off dramatically in recent years. He averaged a meager 3.04 rushes per game in 2021 after notching 5.18 in 2020. Of late, Wilson hasn’t come close to the seven rushes per game he averaged in 2014 and 2015. Stevens said the Denver offense will be “all about” Wilson in 2022, a charge that meshes with a July ESPN report saying head coach Nathaniel Hackett’s staff was “tailoring” the offense around the quarterback’s strengths (including, presumably, downfield throws). Stevens added the Broncos offense should include plenty of pass attempts in the red zone, perhaps limiting rushing touchdown opportunities for Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams. Fantasy managers taking Wilson in redraft leagues shouldn’t expect weekly dual-threat upside from the veteran.
Seattle Seahawks DFS Spin
Ken Walker (hernia) is listed as questionable on the official injury report ahead of MNF. Walker logged three consecutive DNPs throughout the week before ultimately being tagged as questionable. It goes without saying that Walker will be difficult to trust in season-long formats if he manages to suit up for Week 1 considering Pete Carroll’s misleading injury updates, but it’s an interesting development for his Week 2 potential. For now, fantasy managers can still proceed as if Rashaad Penny will have early downs to himself against the Broncos, but it’s frankly difficult to know what to think with Carroll’s injury subterfuge.
Broncos vs. Seahawks Betting Trends
Broncos are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games
Broncos are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite
Broncos are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite
Seahawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in September
Seahawks are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games as an underdog
Broncos vs. Seahawks Prediction:
The over hit in four of the previous five meetings between these two teams and is 5-1 in the Seahawks’ last six games overall. The over is also 7-3-1 in the Seahawks’ last 11 games as a home underdog and while Seattle lacks explosiveness, Pete Carroll’s defense is unlikely to be as strong this season. There should be plenty of holes for Wilson to attack with his new offense and seeing as how Denver is going to “Let Russ Cook,” there should be plenty of points scored tonight in Seattle to get us over the total.
