NFL Betting Odds: Top 5 Best Matchups for Week 9 10/30/17

Top 5 Best NFL Matchups in Week 9

What are the best matchups in the NFL this week from a betting standpoint? Here are the five most interesting games for Week 9.

Falcons at Panthers, 1:00PM ET, Sunday

Even though these NFC South rivals are each coming off victories in Week 8, we still don’t know a lot about the Falcons and Panthers. Respectively, both teams represented the NFC in the Super Bowl the past two years but both have struggled offensively to varying degrees in 2017. Carolina’s defense is legit and Atlanta has enough talent on both sides of the ball to make a another run at the Super Bowl, but these two teams are maddeningly inconsistent. Perhaps we’ll learn more on Sunday when the Falcons and Panthers meet in Charlotte. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Panthers opened as 1.5-point home favorites but are now a 2-point favorite to beat the Falcons.

Bet NFL Week 9 Games

Broncos at Eagles, 1:00PM ET, Sunday

Sunday’s non-conference matchup in Philadelphia is intriguing regardless of whether or not the Broncos beat the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Currently on a six-game winning streak, the Eagles are the best team in the NFC and are making a case to be the best team in the NFL. The broncos, meanwhile, need a win on Monday night in Kansas City to keep pace with the Chiefs in the AFC West. The most interesting aspect of this matchup will be watching Carson Wentz and the No. 4 scoring team in the league go up against Von Miller and the No. 1 ranked defense in terms of yardage allowed. Wentz has played himself into the MVP conversation but the Broncos still own one of the better defenses in the league. After hitting the board as a 7-point favorite, the Eagles are now 7.5-point home favorites for this game.

Chiefs at Cowboys, 4:25PM ET, Sunday

With a win over the Broncos on Monday night, the Chiefs would be 6-2 and in full command of the AFC West. The Cowboys, meanwhile, are right back into the playoff mix following back-to-back wins against the 49ers and Redskins, respectively, over the past two weeks. Ezekiel Elliott is starting to roll again, rushing for 690 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the Cowboys, who continue to receive excellent play from quarterback Dak Prescott as well. Can the No. 19 scoring defense in the NFL slow down Alex Smith and Co., however? This line is subject to change depending on what Kansas City does on Monday night but for now, Dallas is a 1-point favorite over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Lions at Packers, 8:30PM ET, Monday

This matchup took a hit over the last two weeks with the injury to Aaron Rodgers and the Lions falling to 3-4 after their 3-0 start. This game hit the board as a pick’em but now the Packers are a 2-point home underdog despite the Lions’ struggles at Lambeau. This game could wind up being the season for Detroit, which would fall to 3-5 with a loss. The Packers, meanwhile, could improve to 5-3 with a win and stay within a game of the first-place Vikings.

Take Your Pick

The Bills are 3-point road favorite against their AFC East rivals the Jets at 8:25PM ET on Thursday night. The Jaguars, who are in the mix to win the AFC South, are 4-point home favorites versus the Bengals on Sunday while their division rivals the Titans will host the Ravens at 1:00PM ET (no line available.) Finally, the Seahawks are a 7-point home favorite against the banged-up Redskins at 4:05PM ET. Seattle and the Rams, who are 3.5-point road favorites versus the Giants at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
