NFL Betting Updates: Week 1 Injuries Report That Affects Sportsbooks

Injuries that will affect NFL Week 2

Every week during the NFL Season, major injuries occur. NFL injuries almost always affect betting lines. Injuries should also affect whom NFL betting handicappers back against the spread.

The best way to look at injuries in Week 1 is to consider those injuries in terms of how they might affect betting spreads in NFL Week 2.

NFL Week 1 Injuries & NFL Week 2 Spreads

Houston Texans +3 at Cincinnati Bengals -3

Cincy WR John Ross is listed as probable. If Ross plays, Bengals’ QB Andy Dalton should be much, much better than he was in Week 1.

That could lead to Cincinnati possibly covering the spread in this game.

Cleveland Browns +8 at Baltimore Ravens -8

Cleveland has no big injuries to speak of. Baltimore? The Ravens are without RB Danny Woodhead. Baltimore might have a banged up defense as well since 3 of their defenders are listed as questionable.

Pro players are going to jump all over the +8 on Cleveland. If NFL bettors get greedy, playing the money line on the Browns might be a good move as well.

Arizona Cardinals -7.5 at Indianapolis Colts +7.5

The biggest injury of the NFL Season so far is Zona RB David Johnson going down for 2 to 3 months. DJ was the first player taken in almost every season long NFL Fantasy Football Draft.

Even with DJ’s injury, the Cardinals are huge close to -8 favorites to put a beat down on the Colts in Week 2.

Why? The Colts will, again, be without Top 5 in the league quarterback Andrew Luck. NFL betting fans might want to think twice about dumping on Zona, though.

The Colts ran into a buzz saw of a team in the L.A. Rams in Week 1. AZ isn’t nearly as capable as the Rams.

Tennessee Titans -2.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars +2.5

Jacksonville’s best wide receiver, Allen Robinson, is out for the season. Will it matter? Probably not. This game is going to come down to which defense blinks first.

The Jaguars might have the best defense in the NFL. So, those who want to back the Titans should think twice before doing so.

Philadelphia Eagles +5.5 at Kansas City Chiefs -5.5

Philly will be without corner Ronald Darby. The Chiefs will be without safety Eric Berry, one of the best defensive players in the NFL, for the entire season.

Will it matter? Maybe not. The Chiefs should have no trouble scoring points while the Eagles might find it difficult against KC’s front 7.

New England Patriots -6.5 at New Orleans Saints +6.5

New England LB Dont’a Hightower is listed as questionable. That’s going to be a huge problem for the Patriots in this game if Hightower can’t play.

Pay per head agents have probably already set max betting limits since last week’s upset. Just incase NFL bettors dump on underdogs and the underdogs win – again.

The Pats had trouble putting pressure on Chiefs’ QB Alex Smith. Saints’ QB Drew Brees could light up the scoreboard if Brees’ offensive line can protect him, which it appears it can.
