Aaron Rodgers completed 23-0f-33 passes for 274 yards with one touchdown while Greg Jennings caught four passes for 61 yards. Green Bay’s defense held Adrian Peterson in check, holding the MVP candidate to 99 yards on 22 carries. Dom Capers’ unit also harassed backup quarterback Joe Webb, who completed just 11 passes for 180 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Pack covered as a 10.5-point favorite while the combined score fell under the posted total of 44 points. Green Bay finished the regular season with an 11-5 overall record and went 9-7 against the spread.
SAN FRANCISCO: The 49ers needed a 27-13 win over the Cardinals in Week 17 of the regular season, and a Green Bay loss in order to earn a first-round bye. That’s exactly what happened, as the Niners beat the Cardinals 27-13 and the Vikings upset the Pack, 37-34. In that win over Arizona, Colin Kaepernick completed 16-of-28 passes for 276 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, and he also rushed three times for just five yards. Frank Gore added 68 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while Michael Crabtree went off for eight catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns. The Niners finished the regular season with an 11-4-1 overall record and went 9-7 against the spread, failing to cover in their final two games.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the 49ers are 2.5-point favorites versus the 49ers while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44.5 points. Green Bay enters the game with a 12-5 overall record and was 4-4 on the road this year, while San Francisco went 11-4 overall and 6-1 at home.
TRENDS: The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams, while the Packers are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six trips to San Francisco and 5-1-1 in their last seven games overall versus the 49ers.
