Packers vs. Cowboys Odds
The most anticipated game of the playoff weekend gets us started today when the Dallas Cowboys host the Green Bay Packers at 4:40PM ET.
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cowboys are favored in this game, as Dallas is getting odds of -5.5 points against the Packers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 52 points. The opening odds had Dallas as a 4-point favorite, but the spread has made a slow climb up to 5.5 during the week. It even briefly sat at 6 points. The public is backing the Packers as the underdog today, with Green Bay getting 62 percent of the wagers for this game. These two met earlier this season with Dallas getting a 30-16 win at Green Bay on Oct. 16.
The Packers have won seven straight games coming into today, including a 38-13 win over the Giants last week in the divisional playoffs. Green Bay is now 11-6 overall and 10-6-1 against the spread after covering in six of their last seven. The Packers have been pretty unstoppable on offense for over a month, scoring at least 30 points in five straight games. For the season they are now averaging 27.6 points and 370.9 yards per game. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 4,428 yards and 40 touchdowns during the regular season. Last week he had 362 passing yards with four touchdowns in Green Bay’s win. However, Rodgers will be without his top receiver today as Jordy Nelson is out with a rib injury. Nelson had 97 catches for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. Defensively, Green Bay gives up 23 points and 364 yards per game. They have been one of the better running defenses, allowing just 93.2 yards per game on the ground. During the year, Green Bay forced 25 turnovers and had 40 sacks. Nick Perry led the way with 11 sacks and an interception.

The Cowboys won the NFC East and had the best record in the conference this year at 13-3. Dallas finished the season at just 2-2 in its last four games and was only 1-5 against the spread in its last six to finish the year at 10-6 against the spread. Dallas had an impressive run this season considering their offense has been led by a pair of rookies. The Cowboys averaged 26.3 points and 376.7 yards per game during the season. Rookie Ezekiel Elliott led the offense with a league-high 1,631 rushing yards with 15 touchdowns. Rookie QB Dak Prescott threw for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns with just four interceptions. His lack of turnovers has been the big key to success as Prescott didn’t make any real rookie mistakes. Defensively, Dallas allows just 19.1 points and 343.9 yards per game. The Cowboys also have one of the top rushing defenses in the NFL, allowing only 83.5 yards per game, but the pass game is giving up 260.4 yards per contest. The unit forced 20 turnovers and had 36 sacks in 2016. Sean Lee led the team with 145 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss.
