Packers at Cardinals, 8:15PM ET, Saturday
After Arizona opened as a 7.5-point favorite the line has already dropped to 7 according to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu. With 53% of public bettors currently taking the Cardinals to cover the spread, the reverse line movement indicates that at least some sharp bettors grabbed the Packers at +7.5. As for the total, the number hasn’t moved after opening at 50 points.
Seahawks at Panthers, 1:05PM ET, Sunday
Much like the Packers-Cardinals spread and the Steelers-Broncos line, the movement in this matchup wasn’t drastic but nevertheless significant. The Panthers opened as a 3-point home favorite after the Seahawks beat the Vikings 10-9 last Sunday in Minnesota. But the spread has dropped to 2.5 despite 69% of public bettors backing the Panthers. Thus, sharp bettors either like Seattle plus the field goal, or drove the number down so that they can buy Carolina back at -2.5. We’ll just have to see where the line moves throughout the week.
Steelers at Broncos, 4:40PM ET, Sunday
Despite facing a banged-up Pittsburgh team and receiving 67% of public bets, Denver has gone from a 7-point favorite to a 6.5-point favorite. Perhaps this line movement is a result of Ben Roethlisberger’s playing status being updated on Monday, although oddsmakers had a good idea that the QB would play on Sunday when they moved the line to 7. Even with Antonio Brown and DeAngelo Williams questionable to play, there was buyback on the Steelers at +7.
