Steelers vs. Chiefs Pick

Will the under cash on Sunday afternoon when the Chiefs host the Steelers at 1:05PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chiefs are 1.5-point home favorites versus the Steelers while the over/under currently sits at 46.5 points. Kansas City opened as a 1-point home dog before the line jumped the fence, while the total fell from 46.5 down to 44.

Ben Roethlisberger practiced in full on Thursday after suffering a foot/ankle injury at the conclusion of the Steelers’ Wildcard win over the Dolphins. Big Ben got the day off on Wednesday but returned on Thursday for his normal practice reps. He threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions versus Miami but has struggled on the road this season.

The Chiefs look to be getting healthy at the right time. Spencer Ware is practicing in full ahead of Sunday’s game against the Steelers after dealing with a ribs injury over the past couple of weeks. Coach Andy Reid also said earlier this week that top pass-rusher Justin Houston (knee) will be ready to play as well. Houston has sat out the last two weeks after experiencing swelling in his surgically-repaired knee.

OUR PREDICTION: The weather in Kansas City on Sunday is expected to be freezing, so the conditions will be less than ideal for both offenses to be explosive. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and is 11-5 in the Chiefs’ last 16 games played in January. The under is also 19-7 in the Steelers’ last 26 road games, is 15-6 in their last 21 games overall, and is 21-8-1 in their last 30 conference games. The Steelers posses a three-headed monster in Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, but moving the ball against a solid Kansas City defense will be much more difficult than an overmatched Miami team a week ago.
