Bettors Favoring Underdog Saints
Public bettors are favoring every favorite in the NFL Divisional Round this weekend but one. Here’s a snapshot of who bettors like mid-week in the NFL.
Falcons at Eagles, 4:35 p.m. ET, Saturday
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons are 3-point road favorites to beat the Eagles in the first Divisional Round matchup of the weekend. Atlanta beat the high-flying Rams a week ago as a 6-point road underdog and now public bettors are hopping aboard the bandwagon of the defending NFC champions. As of Wednesday morning, 66% of public bettors are backing the Falcons and 80% of the money in this game is also on Atlanta to cover the small spread.

Titans at Patriots, 8:15 p.m. ET, Saturday
Even though the Titans pulled off the upset of Wild Card Weekend this year, public bettors are fading Tennessee ahead of the team’s game against the Patriots this weekend. With the Patriots listed as a 13.5-point home favorite for Saturday night’s game, 73% of betting tickets are on New England to cover the spread. The money, however, is split 50-50.
Jaguars at Steelers, 1:05 p.m. ET, Sunday
This is a rematch of a regular season meeting between these two teams, a game won handedly by the Jaguars, 30-9 in Pittsburgh. Despite Jacksonville’s victory, the Steelers have gone from a 7-point to a 7.5-point home favorite for this weekend’s game. Midweek, the Steelers are receiving 61% of the betting tickets and 55% of the money ahead of Sunday’s game.
Saints at Vikings, 4:40 p.m. ET, Sunday
Of the four Divisional Round matchups this weekend, this is the only game where public bettors are siding with the underdog. The Saints opened as 3.5-point road dogs for Sunday’s matchup with the Vikings but now Minnesota is -4. As of this writing, 63% of betting tickets are on New Orleans to cover the spread but 63% of money is on Minnesota. Thus, we could have a pubic vs. wiseguy matchup, with public bettors on the underdog and the sharps laying the wood with the favored Vikings.
