NFL Hilton Super Contest Consensus
A couple of key NFC games are up for grabs Sunday and the Las Vegas Hilton SuperContest consensus sided with underdogs in both.
Overall, the consensus preferred nine favorites and seven pooches.
Top play in Week 10 was 4-4 St. Louis, which is getting 4 points from reigning conference champion Seattle.
The Seahawks (5-3) will be playing without injured Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and league MVP Shaun Alexander.
At stake is first place in the NFC West.
SuperContestants took the Rams by a 119-23 tally.
Sunday night’s conflict between 7-1 Chicago and the 6-2 New York Giants could offer a preview of the NFC Championship and illustrates how contest numbers may vary from those available later in the week.
The Bears, who were receiving 1 point on the street Friday night, are getting 2 1/2 in the contest and rated 101-66 support from SuperContestants.
Detroit, which is laying 5 1/2 to San Francisco, was the week’s top favorite play by a 95-23 count.
Two calls were made by a single nod and another by three.
Hilton players picked Kansas City 96-95 over Miami; Jacksonville 49-48 over Houston and the New York Jets 46-43 over New England.
Tampa Bay was a 41-32 selection on Monday night.
Other choices were Cincinnati, 110-71 over San Diego; Atlanta, 70-26 over Cleveland; Baltimore. 67-41 over Tennessee; Indianapolis, 69-35 over Buffalo; Pittsburgh, 110-64 over New Orleans; Philadelphia, 77-44; Green Bay, 55-33 over Minnesota; Denver, 76-37 over Oakland; and Aeizona over Dallas, 95-37.
The consenus evened out at last week at 62-62-3, while best bets are 5-4.
The SuperContest attracted 416 entrants who paid $1,500 apiece.
They pick five pro games weekly, earning one point for a win and a half-point for a push.
Twenty players will cash, with just under $250,000 going to the champion.
The two co-leaders, Win Big and Jarhead, have 32 points and a 1 1/2 game advantage over Tony Soprano 2 and ATS Stats.com.
Five others are 2 1/2 games behind.
