Detroit is now 1-7 after losing two weeks ago to Kansas City in London. The Lions are also just 1-7 against the spread, with their lone cover coming against the Seahawks in Seattle on a Monday night in early October.
The Pick
The Lions are an absolute mess but the Packers aren’t the same offense that we’ve been accustomed to seeing under Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers. Without an effective running game, Rodgers has looked helpless at times moving the Packers through the air. Granted, Green Bay did make a furious comeback last Sunday in Carolina but Detroit is well rested coming off its bye and has played well at times defensively this season (just not two weeks ago against Kansas City in London). The Packers should win today but they don’t have the same firepower that they’ve had in years past and thus, 11.5 points seems like too much.
