NFL Monday Night Football Lions vs. Giants Week 2 Predictions 9/18/17

Lions vs. Giants Prediction

Will the Lions pull off the upset tonight in East Rutherford when they visit the Giants for Monday Night Football at 8:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are currently 3-point home favorites versus the Lions after opening as a 5-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, hit the board at 43.5 but has been bet down to 42.

Detroit Lions Betting Trends

The Lions have failed to cover in six of their last eight road games and are 1-5 against the number in their last six games overall. They’re also 1-5 at the betting window in their last six games versus NFC opponents. Where they have covered, however, is on Monday night. The Lions have covered in five of their last seven MNF games.

New York Giants Betting Trends

The Giants are a near-perfect 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, are 3-0-1 against the number in their last four games following an ATS loss and are 4-0 ATS in their last four games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in previous game. That said, they’re 0-5 against the number in their last five games in Week 2.

Our Prediction: The Giants have issues beyond Odell Beckham’s injury situation. Even if Beckham does play tonight, he might be a decoy. Besides, the Giants’ offensive line is a mess. If they can’t protect Eli Manning then this offense will be severely limited. The road team is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings between these two teams. I’ll take the points, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Detroit wins outright.
