Chargers vs. Broncos Odds
(The Spread) – AFC West rivals clash in Denver on Sunday when the Broncos host the Chargers at 4:15PM ET.
San Diego comes into this game with a 3-1 record but is just 1-3 against the spread. The Bolts’ lone cover came last week in a 26-16 win as a 6.5-point favorite over the Dolphins. Outside of that, they failed to cover as a 9-point home favorite against the Vikings in Week 1, as a 6.5-point road dog against New England in Week 2, and a 14.5-point home favorite against the Chiefs in Week 3.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are just 1-3 overall and have failed to cover in three of their first four games. The over has hit in three of their four games, with the lone exception being a 17-14 loss to the Titans on the road when the total was 42.5. That loss to Tennessee was also Denver’s lone cover of the season. Kyle Orton’s struggles have led many to believe that John Fox should start Tim Tebow at quarterback.
Oddsmakers have installed the Chargers as 4-point road favorites against the Broncos in Week 5, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 45.5 points. Pf the 10,000-plus wagers on Sunday’s game, 82% of NFL public bettors currently favor the Chargers –4.
According to latest NFL trends, the Chargers are 3-0-4 against the spread in their last seven road games against the Broncos and 7-1-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings overall. The favorite is also 6-2-2 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Denver and the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall.
Kickoff of this game is set for 4:15PM ET on Sunday and can be seen on CBS.
