Rams vs. Titans Prediction
Are the struggling Tennessee Titans a good bet to cover the point spread as a home underdog today when they host the surging Los Angeles Rams at 1:00 p.m. ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Los Angeles. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rams are 6.5-point road favorites to beat the Titans, who opened as a 6.5-point home underdog. The total, meanwhile, sits at 49 points after hitting the board at 46.5.
Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday morning, 65% of the betting tickets are on the Rams to cover the spread and 56% of the money is also on L.A.
Who the Trends Like: Tennessee and the over. In the last five meetings between these two teams, the Rams are 0-4-1 against the spread. Over that same span, the over is also 4-1.
Who We Like: Tennessee. I’ve faded what I believe is a fraudulent Titans team for weeks but I actually like them in this spot today. First of, the Titans are 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 home games. For whatever reason, they’re a different team in Nashville then they are on the road.
Secondly, I hate this spot for the Rams. They’re coming off an emotional beat down of the Seahawks and now that they got that NFC West monkey off their back, they have to travel all the way to Nashville to take on an unfamiliar opponent that is desperate. The Rams should win this game, but 6.5 points is too much to lay in a game where both teams need a win for playoff purposes.
The Rams are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games played in December and are 5-14-1 against the number in their last 20 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game. The Titans, meanwhile, are 4-1 against the number in their last five games coming off a loss and again, are at home. I like the dog.
