Bears Season Win Prediction
How many games will the Chicago Bears win in 2017, regardless of who starts under center? Let’s dive into their odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bears have an over/under of 5.5 for number of wins in 2017. They also have some of the worst odds to win the Super Bowl at 150/1 and are 80/1 to win the NFC Conference Championship. Finally, Chicago has the worst odds to win the NFC North Division at 30/1.
The Bears released Jay Cutler and signed Mike Glennon to a three-year, $45 million contract. They didn’t stop there, adding veteran tight end Dion Sims, cornerback Marcus Cooper, safety Quintin Demps, receivers Markus Wheaton, Victor Cruz and Kendall Wright, as well former Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara. It was a busy offseason in Chicago.
In the draft, the Bears traded up one spot to secure their quarterback of the future (and perhaps even their present), Mitchell Trubisky of North Carolina. They went offense again in the second (Adam Shaeen, TE, Ashland) and fourth rounds (Tarik Cohen, RB, North Carolina A&T). In the fourth, they nabbed Alabama safety Eddie Jackson.

OUR PREDICTION: The combination of head coach John Fox and general manager Ryan Pace have produced a 9-23 record over the last two years in Chicago. Now there’s a potential quarterback controversy, although Glennon should still start Week 1. While the running game and defensive front offer optimism that the Bears could be better than most expect, the quarterback situation is a mess and the rest of the roster isn’t that talented. Throw in a somewhat difficult schedule and the fact that the team plays in a competitive division and I’m not optimistic that the Bears will go over their season total in 2017.
