Jaguars Season Win Total Prediction
With a new coach and a new philosophy, will the Jacksonville Jaguars go over their projected win total in 2017?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Jaguars’ over/under win projection has been set at 6.5. Jacksonville is also a massive long shot to win the Super Bowl at 80/1 and is 42/1 to win the AFC Conference Championship. Finally, the Jaguars have 4/1 odds to win the AFC South Division this upcoming season.
The Jaguars were active in free agency, signing former Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye to a five-year contract and former Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell to a four-year deal. They also added safety Barry Church, offensive tackle Earl Watford, and tight end Mychal Rivera.
Armed with a top-5 pick for the sixth year in a row, the Jaguars took LSU running back Leonard Fournette with the fourth overall selection. They nabbed Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson in the second, Illinois defensive end Dawuane Smoot in the third, and Oklahoma receiver Dede Westbrook in the fourth.

Our Prediction: I hate to do this because the Jaguars routinely underachieve, but I think they go over their projected win total in 2017. I’m not a Blake Bortles fan but this team can overcome their quarterback to some degree with the addition of Fournette. Bortles also has a ton of options in the passing game, from Allen Robinson to Allen Hurts, to Rivera and Fournette. The Jags’ defense is on the rise as well, so Bortles doesn’t have to win games for this team in 2017, he just can’t lose them. This makes me nervous, but I’m taking the over 6.5.
