Ravens Season Win Total Prediction
Will the Ravens struggle to win nine games this upcoming NFL season given some of the recent turmoil the team has gone through?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Ravens’ win total for 2017 has been set at over/under 8.5. Baltimore is also a 50/1 long shot to win the Super Bowl, is 22/1 to win the AFC conference title, and is 4/1 to win the NFC North Division in 2017.
The Ravens didn’t have a busy offseason from a free-agency standpoint, but they did ink former Eagle and Chief wide receiver Jeremy Maclin after Kansas City released him. The team also signed cornerback Brandon Carr, formerally of the Dallas Cowboys. Recently, the team also added Larry Donnell, formerly of the Giants, with Crockett Gillmore out indefinitely following meniscus surgery.
In the draft, the Ravens added to their secondary with the selection of cornerback Marlon Humphrey. They also went defense in the second and third rounds, nabbing linebacker Tyus Bowser and defensive end Chris Wormley from Michigan. The Ravens went back-to-back offensive line picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, respectively, with the selections of Nico Siragusa and Jermaine Eluemunor.

Our Prediction: This could be an overreaction to the recent injury news impacting Joe Flacco, as well as the sudden retirement of guard John Urschel, but the Ravens’ run of recent success appears to be coming to a screeching halt. Flacco said his back injury isn’t a disk issue and that he’s just dealing with some stiffness and hopes to miss only a week of practice. Either way, Flacco will head an offense that finished in the bottom half of the league in Football Outsiders overall efficiency rankings. The defense was solid a year ago, but also getting long in the tooth in certain spots. I just don’t think this team gets above 8 wins.
