NFL Predictions: Is 38 points too low for Jaguars vs. Cardinals? 11/24/17

Jaguars vs. Cardinals Total Pick

Is the total being set too low when the Arizona Cardinals play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at 4:25PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jacksonville is favored on the road, as the Jaguars are getting odds of -5.5 points against the Cardinals. The over/under total has been set at 38 points. Arizona has won two straight meetings with the Jags and the two have hit the over in three of their last four encounters. The public betting in this game has Jacksonville getting 77 percent of the wagers on the road. Sunday’s game takes place from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona and will air live on CBS.

The Jaguars are coming off a 19-7 win over the Browns in Cleveland last week for their fourth straight victory. They are now 7-3 on the season while posting a 6-4 record with the under. Jacksonville has hit the under in four straight games. The Jags are being led by their stout defense, which is allowing just 14.1 points and 302 yards per game. The unit has 40 sacks and 23 forced turnovers. Calais Campbell is leading the unit with 11.5 sacks. Offensively, Jacksonville is averaging 24.5 points and 369 yards per game. Leonard Fournette has run for 740 yards and six touchdowns to lead the offense while Blake Bortles has thrown for 2,084 yards and 12 touchdowns with seven interceptions.

The Cardinals are coming off a 31-21 loss at Houston last week to fall to 4-6 on the season. Arizona is 7-3 with the under, hitting it in three of their last four games. The Cards are averaging just 17.6 points and 346.8 yards per game right now. Their run game is a mess, posting just 69.3 yards per game. Adrian Peterson is leading the ground attack with 369 yards on 109 carries. At QB, Arizona is banged up and will start Blaine Gabbert again this weekend. He has thrown for 257 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions this season. Larry Fitzgerald has caught 69 passes for 768 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Arizona is allowing 25.4 points and 359 yards per game. The unit is led by Chandler Jones, who has 10 sacks.

Bet on Jaguars vs. Cardinals

The under seems to be the play for this game based on the trends, as the Jags have hit the under in five of their last six road games and in four straight against losing teams. Arizona has hit the under in 13 of its last 16 home games and in five straight at home against a team with a winning road record. The Jacksonville defense looks to be legit and should continue to shine against a QB like Gabbert.
