NFL Predictions: New Orleans Saints vs. Miami Dolphins 9/29/17

Saints vs. Dolphins Pick

Will the New Orleans Saints be able to fly overseas and pick up a win over the Miami Dolphins when the two meet in London on Sunday at 9:30AM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, New Orleans is favored in this game, as the Saints are getting odds of -3 points against the Dolphins. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 50.5 points. The Saints have won and covered in their last two meetings with Miami. Sunday’s game takes place from Wembley Stadium in London, England. The game will air live on FOX.

After losses to the Vikings and Patriots to start the season, New Orleans got on track last week with an impressive 34-13 win at Carolina. The Saints are also 2-1 against the spread, but this is the first game they enter as the favorite. New Orleans hasn’t been dominant on offense, but found a stride over the last two games. They now average 24.3 points and 385.7 yards per game. Drew Brees has thrown for 867 yards and six touchdowns without an interception. Michael Thomas has caught 17 passes for 221 yards and a score. Mark Ingram is the leading rusher with 125 yards on 28 carries. On defense, the Saints are giving up 26 points and 452.3 yards per game, including 325.7 passing yards per contest.

Miami is 1-1 through two games, suffering a surprising 20-6 loss to the Jets in New York last week. Miami is 1-1 against the spread as they were a 5.5-point favorite against the Jets. The Dolphins are averaging just 12.5 points and 295.5 yards per game on offense thus far. Jay Cutler has thrown for 450 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in two games. He has been sacked twice, however. Jay Ajayi has run for 138 yards, but 122 came in the win over the Chargers. Defensively, Miami is allowing just 18.5 points and 363.5 yards per game. However, they are giving up 290 passing yards per contest. The unit has created just one turnover through two games.

Bet on Saints vs. Dolphins

This game has the potential for a lot of big plays, as both passing defenses are quite suspect. Still, the Dolphins struggled to do anything against the Jets while the Saints are coming off a good showing at Carolina. I think that should carry over on both sides. I don’t see Miami’s defense giving Drew Brees much trouble while I don’t see the Miami offense being able to match New Orleans score-for-score.
