NFL Predictions: Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 12/24/16

Titans vs. Jaguars Prediction

Will the Tennessee Titans go on the road and dominate the Jacksonville Jaguars when they meet today at 1PM ET?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Titans are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -5 points against the Jaguars on Saturday. The over/under total for the game is listed at 43.5 points. The Titans won the first meeting this season, 36-22, in Tennessee back on Oct. 27. The home team has won five straight in this series, while the Jaguars are 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five.

Bet on Titans vs. Jaguars

Tennessee has won three straight coming into Saturday, including a big 19-17 win at Kansas City last week, to move to 8-6 on the season. The Titans are tied for first with the Texans in the AFC South, but Houston currently holds the tiebreaker with a second meeting set for next week. The Titans have covered in two straight, going 6-8 against the spread this season. Tennessee is averaging 24.3 points per game on offense and putting up 383.8 yards per game. DeMarco Murray is second in the NFL in rushing this year at 1,224 yards with nine touchdowns. Marcus Mariota has added 3,327 passing yards and 25 touchdowns with just nine interceptions. He also has rushed for 346 yards and two scores. Defensively, Tennessee is allowing 23.1 points and 374.6 yards per game.

Jacksonville is in the midst of a 9-game losing streak to fall to 2-12 on the year. They fired coach Gus Bradley following last week’s 21-20 loss at Houston. Doug Marrone will take over for the final two games. Jacksonville has covered in just two of its last six games to fall to 6-8 against the spread for 2016. The Jags are averaging 18.6 points per game on offense right now this season. Blake Bortles has thrown for 3,279 yards with 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He has been sacked 30 times as well and doesn’t have much of a run game, as the Jags average under 100 yards per game on the ground. Defensively, Jacksonville is giving up 25.6 points per game, but allowing just 331 yards per contest.

Jacksonville fired its coach, so the team could look to bounce back accordingly, but I don’t think the players have much belief in Bortles to lead them. Tennessee destroyed Jacksonville in the first half of the last meeting and I could see something similar today as the Titans have plenty to play for.
