Titans vs. Dolphins Prediction
Which struggling team will pick up a needed win when the Miami Dolphins host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at 1PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Tennessee is favored on the road, as the Titans are getting odds of -1 point against the Dolphins. The over/under total for the contest has yet to be set. The road team has won and covered the spread in three straight meetings between these two. Sunday’s game takes place from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida and will air live on CBS.

The Titans are coming off a 57-14 loss at Houston last week to fall to 2-2 on the season and 2-2 against the spread. In the loss, Marcus Mariota suffered a hamstring injury that has him questionable to play on Sunday. Mariota has led the offense to an average of 25 points and 342 yards per game. Mariota has thrown for 792 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 116 yards and three scores. Matt Cassel will step in if Mariota can’t go. The run game will likely be relied on this week as DeMarco Murray has 215 yards while Derrick Henry has 178. The main issue for Tennessee this season has been the defense, which is giving up 31.5 points and 397.8 yards per game. The pass defense has been giving up 285.3 yards per contest.
Miami is coming off a very lackluster 20-0 loss to the Saints in London last week. The Dolphins have been held to just six points over their last two games. Miami is now 1-2 on the season and 1-2 against the spread. The Dolphins are averaging 8.3 points and 271 yards per game. Jay Ajayi has been held to just 184 rushing yards on 51 carries while Jay Cutler has thrown for 614 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Miami is allowing 19 points and 360.3 yards per game. Their run defense has been good, allowing just 77.7 yards per game on the ground.
This is a tough game to call as both teams have really looked awful at times. If Mariota is to play, he’s not likely to be at full strength and his ability to move is what makes him dangerous. I don’t know that Tennessee can rely on just their backs to win this game. Miami has been awful on offense, but I think the Dolphins find something this week against a Tennessee defense that has been terrible. I will go with Miami at home as a slight dog.
