San Francisco 49ers Betting Trends

The 49ers are just 5-12-1 against the spread in their last 18 road games, are 4-12 against the number in their last 16 games overall, and are 3-9 against the spread in their last 12 games versus the rest of the NFC. They have failed to cover in five of their last six games played in the month of September as well.

Seattle Seahawks Betting Trends

The Seahawks have covered in five of their last six home games and are 20-8 against the number in their last 28 games following a loss. That said, they’re also 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, are 2-8 at the betting window in their last 10 games in Week 2, and are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against NFC opponents.

OUR PREDICTION: At some point the 49ers are going to show great improvement under new coach Kyle Shanahan. Perhaps in the second half of the season, they’ll even be a weekly underrated underdog play. But given all the gnashing of teeth and griping in Seattle, I have a feeling the Seahawks are going to take it to their division rivals today. The Hawks’ offensive line is legit bad. Perhaps it’ll even sink their Super Bowl hopes at some point. But I don’t expect the 49ers to reach double-digits in points against a pissed off Seattle defense that was hung out to dry last week by its offense despite corralling Aaron Rodgers for four quarters. The Seahawks might not light up the 49ers, but turnovers and field possession will come into play at some point and I like Seattle to eventually pull away.

NFL WEEK 2 PICK: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS -14
