San Francisco 49ers Betting Trends

The 49ers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games, are 5-2 against the number in their last seven road games, and have cashed in four straight games coming off a loss. That said, they have struggled to cover in October, going 1-5 at the betting window in their last six games played in this month.

Indianapolis Colts Betting Trends

The Colts are 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 games played in Week 5, are 6-2 against the number in their last eight games coming off an ATS loss, and are 29-10 at the betting window in their last 39 games following a straight up loss. They’ve covered in 26 of their last 35 games against a team with a losing record, too.

OUR PREDICTION: Man there’s a lot of crap matchups this week, aren’t there? Jets versus Browns? Chargers versus Giants? 49ers versus Colts? Check out the quarterback matchups in those games. Yuck. Anyway, there’s not much reason to back the winless Niners but I’m going to despite my better judgment. Even though Shanahan says he’s not considering a move, it feels like Brian Hoyer is seconds from being benched. So this will be the game Hoyer comes out and throws for 300-plus yards and three touchdowns. He has a way of surprising when you least expect it, only to turn back into a pumpkin a week later. Regardless, the Colts are allowing 34.0 points per game, worst in the NFL. They’re also 25th in points scored, 29th in passing, 26th in rushing and 31st in total yards offensively. Despite Frank Gore’s best efforts to beat his former squad, I like the Niners because believe it or not, I think they’re the better team.
