NFL Predictions: Will Chiefs snap losing streak with win vs. Raiders? 12/10/17

Raiders vs. Chiefs Prediction

Will the Kansas City Chiefs put an end to their four-game losing streak on Sunday when they host the Oakland Raiders at 1:00 p.m. ET in a revenge spot?

Who Oddsmakers Like: Kansas City. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are 4-point home favorites versus the Raiders, who opened as a 4.5-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, hit the board at 47.5 before being bet up to 48.

Who the Public Likes: As of this writing, 57% of the betting tickets are on the Chiefs to cover the spread while 60% of the money is on Kansas City as well.

Who the Trends Like: The under and the Raiders. In the last nine meetings between these two teams in Kansas City, the under is 8-1. The combine score has also fallen under the total in 18 of the last 25 meetings between these division rivals as well.

Meanwhile, the Raiders are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games in Kansas City and the road team has cashed in 21 of the last 29 meetings. Granted, the favorite is 7-3 at the betting window in the last 10 meetings so there are some conflicting trends here.

Who We Like: Kansas City. Time for the Chiefs to wake up. After four straight losses, Andy Reid’s squad has been thrust into a four-game tie in the AFC West with the Chargers and these Raiders. This, of course, came on the heels of everyone wondering if Kansas City was a Super Bowl contender after the first month of the season.

As it turns out, the Chiefs are absolutely not a title contender this season. That said, can they rebound and beat one of their biggest rivals today? I’m banking on it.

There were finally some positives to draw from last week’s loss to the Jets in New York. They ran for an average of 19.2 yards per carry and Alex Smith was a perfect 4-0 in terms of touchdowns-to-interceptions. With Reid handing over the play-calling duties to Matt Nagy, the Chiefs offense awoke from a nearly month-long slumber.

Granted, Kansas City’s defense is still a disaster and Reid suspended his best corner in Marcus Peters for his on-field outburst last week. Still, the Raiders will be without Amari Cooper (concussion/ankle, doubtful) and Derek Carr hasn’t done anything outside of lighting up this same KC squad a month ago.

The Chiefs are at home, they’re desperate, and they’re playing a division rival. If they can’t get up for this one, then when will they?
