Seahawks Win Total Prediction
Will the Seahawks win 10 games for the third consecutive season or will they improve upon that number in 2017?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seahawks’ over/under for wins in 2017 is sitting at 10.5. They’re also 11/1 to win the Super Bowl, giving them the third-best odds in the league behind the Patriots (31/10) and Cowboys (10/1). Seattle is favored at 5/19 to win the NFC West as well.
The Seahawks attempted to upgrade their dismal offensive line with the signing of former second overall pick Luke Joeckel. The team also added to their offense with the free-agent addition of running back Eddie Lacy, although Thomas Rawls, Alex Collins, C.J. Prosise and Mike Davis make for a crowded backfield.
In the draft, the Seahawks traded their first-round pick to the Falcons but wound up with two second-round selections and four third-round picks. They took Malik McDowell, Ethan Pocic, Shaquill Griffin, Delano Hill, Nazair Jones and Amara Darboh with those selections. Tedric Thompson, Mike Tyson, Justin Senior, David Moore and Chris Carson rounded out their draft class.

Our Predictions: Since 2012, the Seahawks have won no less than 10 games under Pete Carroll. The past two seasons, they finished with 10-win seasons and lost in the divisional round both years. With a total sitting at 10.5, can Seattle get back to 11 wins? I predict yes. Russell Wilson wasn’t healthy last year behind a horrible offensive line. Wilson shed weight this offseason in efforts to increase his athleticism. If the offensive line has improved even slightly, then I like Seattle to get to 11 wins.
The other contributing factor in taking the over is that Earl Thomas returns healthy. The loss of Thomas was devastating to Seattle a year ago because he’s the best safety in the league and a true game-changer. Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett, Kam Chancellor and Bobby Wagner all return as well.
Finally, now that nemesis Jeff Fisher is gone, maybe the Seahawks can actually beat a horrible Rams team twice, which is something they struggled to do when the hapless Fisher was around. With the Rams and 49ers in their division that should be four wins alone this season. Given how difficult it still is for opponents to win in Seattle, I like the over here.
