Steelers vs. Texans Total Pick
Will Monday’s Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans matchup go over the betting total when the two teams meet Christmas Day at 4:30 p.m. ET?
Game Info
Matchup: Steelers (11-3) at Texans (4-10)
TV: NBC, 4:30 p.m. ET
Line: Steelers -9
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under currently sits at 45 points after hitting the board at 44. As for the point spread, the Steelers opened as a 10-point road favorite but the line has been bet down to 9 at most sports books.
PUBLIC BETTING: As of this writing, 71% of betting tickets are on the Steelers to cover the point spread while 84% of the money is also on Pittsburgh.
INJURY REPORT: Antonio Brown is out with a calf injury while Vance McDonald (shoulder) and Joe Haden (leg) are probable. On the other side, Jeff Allen is out with a concussion, Tom Savage (concussion) and Bruce Ellington (concussion) are also out for the Texans.
OUR PREDICTION: The over is 4-1 in the STeelers’ last five games overall, is 4-1 in their last five games played on Monday, and is 4-1 in their last five games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game. In their last four games, Pittsburgh has allowed 27 (New England), 38 (Baltimore), 20 (Cincinnati) and 28 (Green Bay) points. That Steelers defense is not playing well at the moment and despite Houston being banged-up offensively, I like the Texans to move the ball consistently.
The over is also 4-0 in the Texans’ last four home games versus a team with a winning road record, is 6-2 in their last eight games when facing an opponent with a winning record, and is 29-12 in their last 41 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
NFL WEEK 16 OVER/UNDER PREDICTION: STEELERS/TEXANS OVER 45
