Cowboys vs. Rams Prediction

Are the underdog Rams poised to get the best of the Cowboys Saturday night?

The spread for the Cowboys at Rams preseason game is set at Dallas -3 by sports book Bovada.lv, while the over-under is 37.5. The line opened with the Cowboys as a 3-point favorite and the over-under remains where it opened at.

Bet the Cowboys at Rams Game

DALLAS COWBOYS: The big news this week is the six-game suspension of star running back Ezekiel Elliott after the NFL completed its domestic violence investigation. It will be a big blow to a team with Super Bowl aspirations, although the Cowboys have a fantastic offensive line and it will help soften the blow while backups fill the role. It will be interesting to see how much veteran RBs Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris and Ronnie Hillman play. This is the second game for Dallas, so chances are they’ll all see some carries if active.

LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Rams also made a splash Thursday, acquiring Sammy Watkins from the Bills to give Jared Goff a go-to receiving target. It won’t make a difference this week, however, as the late trade means Watkins will be inactive. Los Angeles has plenty of issues to shore up on offense, particularly on the offensive line where it struggled to provide holes for Todd Gurley to run through. One player to keep an eye on this week is rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who is currently listed among the starters. He could be a difference-maker this year for the Rams. Goff, last year’s No. 1 overall draft pick, needs as much help around him as possible as he continues his development.

Our Prediction: The Cowboys have to be a distracted team right now after learning about the Elliott news. That, coupled with traveling, makes this a tough game. The one positive is that Dallas has had a week to fine tune after its 20-18 Hall of Fame Game win over the Cardinals. Even so, the Rams should have enough at home with the points.
