Broncos vs. 49ers Preseason Pick

Will tonight’s Broncos and 49ers game fall under the betting total at 10:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the 49ers are 2.5-point home favorites to beat the Broncos, while the over/under sits at 39.5 points. San Francisco opened as 2.5-point favorites so the spread hasn’t budged, but the total dropped from 40 to 39.5.

DENVER BRONCOS: Second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch received more first-team reps this week, as expected. He’ll start against the 49ers tonight, although the team will be without running back Jamaal Charles. The former Chief was supposed to play in Denver’s preseason opener, but ended up sitting out. Charles is on track to play next week.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: Rookie linebacker Reuben Foster is dealing with a mild AC joint sprain in his surgically-repaired shoulder. The team re-signed Shayne Skov on Thursday and he could see action with Foster out tonight. Foster was just anointed the starter earlier this week.

OUR PREDICTION: Lynch reportedly looked terrible in full-squad sessions earlier this week and remains behind Trevor Siemian as camp rolls on. I don’t expect Lynch to flip the switch tonight in what should be a boring, low-scoring game in San Francisco. Keep in mind that the 49ers are also installing a new offense under coach Kyle Shanahan, so they’re not expected to fire on all cylinders offensively either.

NFL WEEK 2 PRESEASON PREDICTION: BRONCOS/49ERS UNDER 39.5
