Chiefs vs. Bengals Prediction
Will the Chiefs pick up a preseason road win tonight when they visit the Bengals at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are now 2.5-point road favorites versus the Bengals after opening as 1.5-point underdogs. The total, meanwhile, has not moved, hitting the board at 40 and staying put.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: The Chiefs moved rookie Patrick Mahomes II one spot up their quarterback depth chart. Mahomes is now ahead of Tyler Bray for this week’s preseason game. The importance here is that Mahomes got more reps in practice this week and will be the second signal-caller off the bench when Alex Smith exits tonight’s game. Mahomes impressed in his NFL preseason debut, completing 7-of-9 passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ opener.
CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Bengals are getting heathlier, although that doesn’t mean they’ll be at full strength tonight. John Ross and George Iloka returned to practice this week, but Iloka only did individual drills and Ross was just medically cleared. Neither will play tonight. The same might go for Giovani Bernard, whom the team is taking it easy with after he had to have his knee repaired.

OUR PREDICTION: I thought the line movement for this game was interesting. Normally you don’t see the line “jump the fence” in a preseason game, but the Chiefs went all the way from +1.5 to -2.5 for tonight’s game. I’ll bet into the line movement in belief that Mahomes will remain one of the stars of the preseason. He’s impressed in camp and was excellent a week ago and I think he’ll continue his strong play tonight after receiving a small promotion earlier this week.
