Browns Season Win Prediction
Are the Cleveland Browns still a year away from making some noise in the AFC? Here’s a look at their season odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Browns have an over/under of 4.5 for number of wins in 2017. Besides the Jets, they also have the worst odds to win the Super Bowl at 250/1 and are 125/1 long shots to win the AFC Conference Championship. Finally, they’re 45/1 to win the AFC North Division this upcoming season.

The Browns added to their offensive line with two free agent signings this spring, inking former Bengals guard Kevin Zeitler to a five-year, $60 million contract, and former Packers center J.C. Tretter to a three-year, $16.75 million deal. The team also signed Kenny Britt in free agency, as well as cornerback Jason McCourty, formerly of the Titans.
Meanwhile, Cleveland made a lot of noise in the draft this April. They had three first-round picks and used the selections on Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, Michigan linebacker/safety Jabrill Peppers, and Miami tight end David Njoku. In the second they took their future quarterback in Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer and in the third, they selected North Carolina-Charlotte defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi.

OUR PREDICTION: The Browns are building something, but I don’t know if it’ll come together this season. They still have a major question at quarterback, where Kizer is battling this summer with Brock Osweiler and Cody Kessler. There’s no question they’re a more talented team than they were a year ago, especially on defense. But I also think they’re still a year away from entering deep-sleeper status. I’ll go under one more year.
