NFL Sunday Night Football Cowboys vs. Raiders Predictions 12/17/17

Cowboys vs. Raiders Prediction

Will Dallas Cowboys keep their playoff hopes alive by winning their third straight game? They’ll visit the Oakland Raiders tonight for Sunday Night Football.

WHO ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Dallas. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 3-point road favorites to beat the Raiders, who opened as a 1.5-point home underdog earlier in the week. The total, meanwhile, hit the board at 45 but has jumped to 46.

WHO PUBLIC BETTORS LIKE: Dallas. As of this writing, the Cowboys are receiving 66% of the betting tickets and 75% of the money is also on Dallas.

WHO THE TRENDS LIKE: Dallas. The Cowboys are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, are 7-2 against the number in their last nine games versus an opponent with a losing record, and are 12-5 at the betting window in their last 17 games coming off an ATS win.

On the other side, the Raiders are just 2-8-1 against the spread in their last 11 games overall, are 1-6-1 against the number in their last eight games versus a team with a winning record, and have failed to cover in 36 of their last 54 games played in the month of December.

WHO WE LIKE: Dallas. The Raiders’ season was last week. They want on the road to play a divisional rival with everything on the line and crapped down their leg. Derek Carr was constantly under siege, they had no running game, and Alex Smith did what he wanted to that Oakland defense. They stunk, so I don’t care that they’re a home underdog tonight.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, have righted the ship. Now, a lot of that had to do with the fact that they played the Giants and Redskins the last two weeks. Still, with Tyron Smith and Sean Lee back (Ezekiel Elliott will return from his six-game suspension next week), Dallas is getting heathier. The Cowboys still have an outside chance of making the playoffs so with motivation high, I like the ‘Boys to get on a three-game winning streak.
