Packers vs. Giants Week 12 Odds
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – One of the best matchups in the NFL this week occurs on Sunday Night Football when the Giants host the Packers at 8:20PM ET.
GREEN BAY: With their 24-20 victory over the Lions last Sunday in Detroit, the Packers have now won five in a row and six of their last seven. That win, coupled with a Bears loss to the 49ers on Monday night, has lifted Green Bay into a first-place tie in the NFC North. The Pack are 7-3 overall and after covering as a 3-point favorite last Sunday, 5-5 against the spread. They’ve covered in back-to-back games and in four of their last five contests. Aaron Rodgers has a team-high 2,619 passing yards while Jordy Nelson has 577 receiving yards and second-year playmaker Randall Cobb has 8 touchdowns.
NEW YORK: The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the struggling Giants, who have lost back-to-back games for the first time all season. Their latest loss was perhaps the worst of the four defeats they have this season, as the Bengals routed them 31-13 in Cincinnati. Andy Dalton threw four touchdown passes for a Cincinnati team that was essentially left for dead two weeks prior to its victory over New York. The loss dropped the Giants to 6-4 on the year and 4-5-1 against the spread as they failed to cover as a 3.5-point favorite for the second time in as many weeks. With Eli Manning struggling, the Giants need to get back on track because the Dallas Cowboys are still in the mix to win the NFC East.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are 2.5-point favorites over the Packers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 50.5 points. Green Bay is 7-3 overall and 3-2 on the road, while New York is 6-4 overall and 3-2 at home.
TRENDS: The over is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings between these two teams in New York, and 5-0 in the last five meetings overall. The road team is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings between these two teams and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
