Week 1 Injury Report
Despite this being the start of the NFL Regular Season, there are still plenty of injuries that will impact today’s games. Here’s a look at the latest.
The game with the most attention on it regarding missing players has the Arizona Cardinals hosting the New England Patriots at 8:30PM ET. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Arizona is the clear favorite tonight, as they are getting odds of -7 points against the Patriots. The over/under total is listed at 45.5 points. Tom Brady is already suspended for this game, along with the next three games for the Patriots, but now tight end Rob Gronkowski is out with a hamstring injury. Along the line, tackle Nate Solder is also out for the Pats with a hamstring injury while defensive end Rob Ninkovich is also serving a four-game suspension. Clearly the Pats are coming in less than 100 percent against the NFC West champs.
The biggest injury to take place thus far happened to the Minnesota Vikings. Today they hit the road to face the Tennessee Titans at 1PM ET. Oddsmakers have the Vikings as a 2.5-point favorite on the road despite the fact that Teddy Bridgewater was lost for the season with a knee injury last week in practice. Minnesota is now turning to Sam Bradford or Shaun Hill to lead the offense. The Titans aren’t 100 percent either, as they will be without receiver Kendall Wright, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Wright dealt with injuries last year and finished with 36 receptions for 408 yards and three scores.

One game that features a number of injuries to one team is the Houston Texans hosting the Chicago Bears at 1PM ET. Oddsmakers have the Texans as a 5-point favorite at home against the Bears, likely due to the injuries that Chicago has. The Bears were hoping to have Kevin White make his debut after missing 2015 with a knee injury. He is now dealing with a hamstring injury that has him questionable to play. Offensive lineman Kyle Long is also questionable with a shoulder injury while defensive back Kyle Fuller is out, as is linebacker Pernell McPhee.
