Elliott could play Week 1 vs. Giants
Could the Cowboys have running back Ezekiel Elliott for their Week 1 matchup with the Giants in Week 1?
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk believes that there is a “very good chance” Elliott plays Week 1. Elliott’s appeal is being heard on Tuesday morning and a decision on his playing status could come next week. Florio notes that if Elliott loses his appeal, the running back will take his case to court. An injunction would allow him to play while the legal process plays out.
If Elliott plays, how does that affect the odds for the New York-Dallas matchup? According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are currently 3.5-point home favorites for the Sunday September 10 matchup. Dallas opened as a 5.5-point favorite before Elliott was suspended. Thus, it’s far to speculate that the Cowboys would wind up being between a 5.5 or 6.5-point favorite.
