NFL Week 11 Betting Recap
How did the favorites and underdogs do in Week 11 of the NFL season? If you laid points as a NFL bettor, more than likely you cashed big on Sunday.
Favorites vs. Underdogs
Out of the 13 games played since Thursday night, nine favorites covered the point spread. Some of the bigger public favorites also cashed, including the Patriots and Eagles. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots were 7-point favorites versus the Raiders in Mexico City on Sunday and won easily, 33-8. Philadelphia, meanwhile, was down 9-7 at halftime on Sunday night but rolled to a 37-9 victory over the Cowboys as a 6-point favorite. With Dallas banged-up, bettors loaded up on the Eagles and cashed easily once Carson Wentz and Co. got rolling.
Which Favorites Didn’t Come Through?
Maybe ironic isn’t the right word but I find it interesting that on a week where nine of 13 favorites cashed, the two biggest favorites did not. The Chiefs were a 10-point road favorite versus the Giants, who won outright 12-9 in overtime. The Saints, who were 9.5-point home favorites on Sunday, should have lost to the Redskins but put together an epic fourth-quarter comeback to win, 34-31, also in overtime. Both the Chiefs and Saints cost bettors some teaser tickets.
Overs vs. Unders
Unders edged out overs by a 7-6 count this week. Some of the highest totals did not hit, as Patriots-Raiders fell under the 54.5-point total, as did the Eagles-Cowboys total of 48 on Sunday night. The Redskins-Saints total of 53 did cash the over, but Rams-Vikings fell well under the 46.5-point mark. The lowest total, however, did cash, as the Jaguars and Browns mustered only 26 points with the total sitting at 37. Ravens-Packers (38.5) also fell under, as did Bengals-Broncos (38). Cardinals-Texans (38), however, went over as Houston won, 31-21.
Monday Night Football
The Falcons head to Seattle to take on the Seahawks at 8:30 p.m. ET. As of this writing, Seattle is a 1-point home favorite to beat Atlanta, which opened as a 3-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, has climbed to 46 after hitting the board at 45. The over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams and has cashed in four of the last five meetings in Seattle.
