NEW YORK: With their 28-7 loss to the Seahawks last Sunday, the Jets have now lost three in a row and five of their last six games. Their last win came against Indianapolis in Week 6 when they beat the Colts 35-9 as a 3.5-point favorite. The Jets have now failed to cover the spread in each of their last two games, and haven’t covered the number since a 29-26 loss to the Patriots as an 11-point underdog. They’re now 3-6 overall and 5-4 against the spread, while the under is 5-4 in their first nine games. Mark Sanchez leads the team with 1,860 passing yards while Jeremy Kerley has come out of nowhere to rack up 535 receiving yards.
ST. LOUIS: The Rams shocked the masses last Sunday when they tied the 49ers 24-24 as a 13.5-point road underdog. They had a couple of opportunities to win the game in regulation and in overtime, but they kept shooting themselves in the foot with penalties. St. Louis is a competitive 3-5-1 on the season and a surprising 6-3 against the spread. Sunday will mark the first time this season that the Rams are favored and the over has covered in three straight games. With Danny Amendola (clavicle) back from injury, the Rams’ passing game gets a major boost. Sam Bradford seemingly plays with more confidence too, knowing that Amendola will catch everything thrown his way.
ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Rams as 3.5-point favorites versus the Jets, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 38.5 points. New York is 3-6 overall and 1-3 on the road, while St. Louis is 3-5 overall and 3-2 at home.
TRENDS: The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the Jets are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Rams.
