PHILADELPHIA: With their 38-23 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, the Eagles are now 0-5 in their last five games. Over that span, Philly is also 1-4 against the spread and has failed to cover the number in its last four games. Starting quarterback Michael Vick was knocked out of the Dallas game last week, so rookie Nick Foles is gearing up to make his first NFL start. He completed 22-of-32 passes for 219 yards with one touchdown and one interception while filling in for the injured Vick last Sunday, and showed off his arm strength on a 44-yard touchdown to Jeremy Maclin in the third quarter. With the loss, the Eagles are now 3-6 overall and 1-7-1 against the spread.
WASHINGTON: The Redskins have failed to cover the spread in each of their last two games. Their latest loss came in Week 9 matchup with the Panthers, who beat Washington 21-13 as a 3-point road underdog. The Redskins have now lost three games in a row and haven’t won since beating the Vikings 38-26 nearly a month ago. That said, the Skins should be well rested coming off their bye, although at 3-6 they have a lot of work to do if they’re going to make a run at the Giants for first place in the NFC East. Coming off the bye, Washington is 4-5 against the spread while the over has covered in five of the Skins’ first nine games.
ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Redskins as 3.5-point favorites over the Eagles, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 43.5 points. Philadelphia is 3-6 overall and 1-3 on the road, while Washington is 3-6 overall and 1-3 at home.
TRENDS: The Eagles are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games versus the Redskins in Washington, while the road team is 5-1 against the number in the last six meetings between these two teams.
