They’ve now won three straight and four of their last five games since starting the season 1-3. They’ve also covered the spread in their straight and four of their last five, including twice as a road underdog. At 5-4 the Bucs have an opportunity to challenge for a wild card spot in the NFC if they continue to win. Josh Freeman leads the team with 2,257 passing yards, while Doug Martin has a team-high 862 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. CAROLINA: The Panthers’ dreadful season continued last Sunday with an ugly 36-14 loss to the Broncos. They’ve now lost six of their last seven games, although they have covered in two of their last three. Cam Newton continues to struggle with turnovers and poor decision-making, although he does lead the team with 2,143 passing yards and 354 rushing yards. Carolina is now a putrid 2-7 on the year and 4-5 against the spread, while the under has covered in five of the team’s first nine games.
