Titans vs. Bears Prediction
Are the Titans a safe play as a sizable road favorite today at 1:00PM ET when they visit the Bears?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Titans are now 6-point road favorites versus the Bears after the game opened as a pick’em earlier in the week. As for the total, the number opened at 45.5 but has been bet down to 42 with Matt Barkley set to start at quarterback in place of the injured Jay Cutler.
TITANS KEY TRENDS: The Titans have been a poor bet over their last 51 games, going 12-36-3 at the betting window during that span. They’re also just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine road games, are 4-19-3 against the number in their last 26 games when playing an opponent with a losing record, and are 8-20-2 at the betting window in their last 30 games when coming off a loss. (Tennessee lost to the Colts in Indianapolis last Sunday.)
BEARS KEY TRENDS: The Bears are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games in November but are just 9-24-1 at the betting window in their last 34 home games and are just 4-11 against the spread in their last 15 games overall. They’re also just 5-16 against the number in their last 21 home games versus a team with a losing road record and are 1-4 ATS in their last five games when facing a team with a losing record.

OUR PREDICTION: The Titans rank 19th overall in yards allowed per game and are 23rd in the NFL in points allowed, surrendering 25.0 PPG. That said, the one thing they do well as a defense is stop the run. They allow just 92.1 yards per game on the ground, which makes them a bad matchup against a Bears team that will need to establish the run with Barkley under center today. If rookie Jordan Howard can’t get going, I fully expect Chicago’s defense to wear down in the second half against DeMarco Murray and that excellent running game of Tennessee.
