Giants vs. Raiders Total Pick
With Eli Manning benched and Geno Smith in, will the New York Giants struggle to score on Sunday when they visit the Oakland Raiders at 4:25 p.m. ET?
Game Info
Matchup: Giants (2-9) at Raiders (5-6)
TV: FOX, 4:25 p.m. ET
Line: Raiders -9 (42)
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under currently sits at 42 points after hitting the board at 41. The Raiders, meanwhile, are now 9-point home favorites versus the Giants, who opened as 7.5-point underdogs.
PUBLIC BETTING: As of this writing, the Raiders are receiving nearly 65% of the betting tickets.
INJURY REPORT: Giants guard Justin Pugh (back) is out for Sunday while defensive tackle Damon Harrison (elbow) is questionable. Good news for the Giants: Sterling Shepard (migraines) is probable after missing last week’s game.
As for the Raiders, Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree are both out. Cooper has a concussion and Crabtree was suspended one game for his brawl last week with Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib. Guard Gabe Jackson is also questionable with an ankle injury.
OUR PREDICTION: The Raiders couldn’t stop a nosebleed but the Giants won’t be moving the ball much with Smith at the helm. The under is 8-3 in the Giants’ last 11 games coming off an ATS loss and is 7-2 in their last nine games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.
On the other side, the Raiders will likely struggle to move the ball with Cooper and Crabtree on the sidelines. Chances are Oakland will stick to a run-heavy approach with Marshawn Lynch consistently pounding away at that New York front seven. With the clock constantly ticking, I like the under to cash in this one.
