They’ve also struggled to cover in the month of December, going 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games played in this month.
SEAHAWKS KEY TRENDS: The Seahawks are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games in Week 13, are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games versus a team with a losing road record and are 18-7-1 against the number in their last 26 games in December. They have also covered the spread in 20 of their last 28 games when coming off a loss.

OUR PREDICTION: Despite Seattle’s success when coming off a loss, this still feels like too many points to lay on a team that can’t the run ball with any consistency. It makes it difficult to pull away in the fourth quarter of games and cover big point spreads. Even with the game well in hand a few weeks again against the Eagles, Philadelphia nearly covered the spread late with a touchdown against the Seahawks in the fourth quarter. Carolina isn’t having a good year and at some point the Panthers will check out. But with all the bad blood between these two teams over the last year, the Panthers will be fired up for this one tonight. I like the points with a motivated dog.
