NFL Week 13 Predictions: Will Jets hand Chiefs another loss? 12/3/17

Chiefs at Jets Prediction

Will the New York Jets hand the struggling Kansas City Chiefs yet another loss when the conference foes meet in East Rutherford at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday?

Who Oddsmakers Like: Kansas City. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are 3-point road favorites to beat the Jets, who opened as 4-point home underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 44 and that’s where it currently sits.

Who the Public Likes: Kansas City. As of Sunday morning, the Chiefs were receiving just over 60% of the tickets at the betting window.

Who the Trends Like: Kansas City. In the last seven meetings between these two teams, the Chiefs are 6-1 against the spread. The favorite has also covered in six of the last eight meetings.

Who We Like: New York. Kansas City is in a deep funk. The Chiefs are 1-5 straight up and against the spread in their last six games. Alex Smith was an MVP candidate through the first five weeks of the season but he’s been horrendous of late. He owns a 4-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio, a 6.3 yards per attempt avrage, and a 78.7 passer rating during his last four games.

Kareem Hunt has watched his Offensive Rookie of the Year candidacy evaporate as well, as he’s rushed for just 173 yards in his last four games. Tyreek Hill, meanwhile, has had more than 68 yards receiving just once in his last eight games. How can an offense with so many weapons be so putrid of late?

On the other side, the Jets have lost by more than five points only twice since Week 3. Josh McCown has thrown a career-high 17 touchdown passes and Robby Anderson has at least one touchdown catch in his last five games, averaging 17.4 yards per reception. The Jets have been competitive virtually all season and I like NY to at least cover as a small dog today.
