There was no upset at the New Meadowlands in Week 13 as the Giants thumped the Redskins by a final score of, 31-7. New York easily covered as a 7-point favorite, while the combined score went under the posted total of 38.
In other NFL Week 13 action, the Bears needed a fourth quarter touchdown to beat the Lions 24-20, although Chicago failed to cover as a 5-point favorite. The combined score went over the posted total of 43.5 points.
After the 49ers gave the Packers issues in the first half, Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay pulled away in the final two quarters to beat San Fran, 34-16. Rodgers threw for 298 yards in the win, while receiver Greg Jennings racked up 122 yards.
The Bengals nearly pulled off one of the best upsets of the day, but Drew Brees late the Saints on a late rally to beat Cincinnati by a score of, 34-30. The combined score sailed over the posted total of 45 points.
Speaking of upsets, the Raiders shocked everyone in Week 13 by clobbering the Chargers, 28-13. According to NFL Week 13 odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, Oakland covered easily as a 12.5-point underdog, while the combined score went under the posted total of 44.5 points.
If the Raiders’ win over the Chargers was the best upset of Week 13, then the Cowboys’ shocker over the Colts must have been the next best. Dallas beat Indianapolis 38-35 in overtime and easily covered as a 5.5-point underdog. Tashard Choice rushed for 100 yards while the Dallas defense intercepted Peyton Manning four times.
There was no upset in Tampa Bay, although their almost was. Matt Ryan connected with Michael Jenkins on a late touchdown as the Falcons beat the Bucs, 28-24. Atlanta covered the spread as a 3-point favorite and have now covered in four straight games.
In the Sunday night game, the Steelers came-from-behind to shock the Ravens, 13-10 in Baltimore. Troy Polamalu stripped Joe Flacco late in the fourth quarter and Ben Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass to give Pittsburgh its first lead of the game. Flacco then drove Baltimore into Pittsburgh territory but the drive stalled and the Steelers hung on for the victory.
