Books sweating Patriots-Texans line
What games are receiving the biggest action in Week 14 of the NFL? We caught up with a sportsbook manager to gain some insight into Sunday’s betting matchups.
This week we sat down with one of the managers of online sportsbook Mybookie.ag to get a feel for how bettors view the Week 14 action in the NFL.
One game that Mybookie.ag will be keeping an eye on is the 1:00PM ET tilt between AFC North rivals the Steelers and Bengals. At Mybookie.ag, the Steelers are currently +2.5 and bettors are favoring the road dog.
“Our customers are betting the Steelers at +2.5 after an outstanding performance against the Colts in Week 13,” says Mybookie.ag sportsbook manager Victor Rice. “I still believe that Cincinnati has a better team and its home field advantage could pull this one off for the house.”
The second game of note is the Seahawks-Ravens matchup at 1:00PM ET in Baltimore, where Seattle is a whopping 11.5-point road favorite. Apparently the big number isn’t scaring off bettors at Mybookie.ag.
“I believe the public feels like 11.5 points is no problem for Russell Wilson and Co. after three-straight wins,” says Rice. “With the Ravens struggling with health at the quarterback position, it makes sense why bettors wouldn’t be scared off by the big number.”
The big one that could have sportsbooks sweating is the game tonight between the Patriots and Texans, who are only a 3.5-point home underdog with New England coming off back-to-back losses.
“The Tom Brady-Bill Belichick combination is our biggest decision of the day,” Rice says. “Gamblers refuse to believe that New England will lose three games in a row this season. I’m not sure why handicappers came up with such a low line of -3.5.”
With 82% of public bets currently on the Patriots, Mybookie.ag won’t be the only book sweating the results of tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup.
