Who are NFL public bettors backing?
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Despite losing last week to separate opponents, the public likes a pair of AFC North underdogs on the road today.
Per our public betting charts, 59% of bettors favor the Ravens as 3-point road underdogs versus the Dolphins at 1:00PM ET today. Baltimore is coming off a last-second loss to San Diego at home but despite that defeat, the public continues to pound the Ravens. One thing to consider is that bettors weren’t too impressed with the Dolphins on Monday night, who beat the Jets but failed to cover as 6-point road favorites.
The other AFC North team that the public is backing today are the Steelers, who are 3-point road dogs versus the Bengals at 1:00PM ET. Pittsburgh failed to cover as a 4-point home favorite against New Orleans last week but clearly bettors haven’t lost faith in Ben Roethlisberger and Co. Of course, Cincinnati was the No. 1 bet in Vegas last week and despite winning, the Bengals nearly lost to a two-win Buccaneers team in Tampa Bay.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Texans are 6.5-point road favorites versus the Jagurs and have 82% of backing from public bettors. Other public favorites today include the Giants (81%) versus the Titans, the Colts (75%) versus the Browns, and the Patriots (79%) as 3.5-point road favorites versus the Chargers on Sunday night.
