NFL Week 14 Injury Report
Some big-name quarterbacks could find themselves on the sideline today due to injury. Here is a closer look at the biggest injuries for Week 14 of the season.
The biggest name on the Injury Report today is Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford suffered hand injury in last week’s loss to the Ravens and has been limited in practice all week. He is officially listed as questionable for today’s game at Tampa Bay at 1PM ET, but is more of a game-time decision. Odds for the game weren’t released until late on Saturday and they have the Lions as a 3-point favorite on the road against the Bucs. That indicates that oddsmakers believe Stafford will play. Stafford has thrown for 3,302 yards and 22 touchdowns with 7 interceptions. He has been sacked 39 times. If he is unable to play, Jake Rudock will get the start. He is 3 of 5 passing for 24 yards with a pick six.
Another QB that has been dealing with an injury all week is Tyrod Taylor of the Buffalo Bills. Taylor is dealing with a knee injury and he is listed as a game-time decision for today’s 1PM ET game with the Indianapolis Colts in Buffalo. Oddsmakers are listing the Bills as a 3-point favorite at home against the Colts. Taylor has thrown for 2,090 yards and 12 touchdowns this season while rushing for 334 yards and three more scores. If Taylor is unable to play, Nathan Peterman will start. Peterman has five interceptions on 39 pass attempts.
Another injury of note is Cincinnati running back Joe Mixon, who will miss today’s 1PM ET game with the Chicago Bears at home due to a concussion he suffered in Monday night’s game with the Steelers. Oddsmakers are still listing the Bengals as a 6.5-point home favorite against the Bears despite the loss of Mixon, who is their leading rusher. After a slow start to his rookie year, Mixon has come on lately. He has 518 rushing yards and four touchdowns this season while also catching 27 passes for 266 yards. Jeremy Hill is on IR for the Bengals so Giovani Bernard will see an increase in carries. He has 198 rushing yards on 47 carries this season.
