With Week 13 nearly in the books, here’s a look at the early point spreads and storylines for Week 14 in the NFL.
Patriots open as road favorites in Houston following back-to-back losses.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Patriots opened as a 3.5-point favorite versus the Texans on Sunday Night Football. This after New England has lost back-to-back games and Houston has won four of its last five. The Texans were on a four-game winning streak both straight up and against the spread before losing in Buffalo, 30-21.
Potential playoff matchup favors Cardinals by over a touchdown.
Two teams likely headed for the playoffs will meet in Arizona on Thursday night when the Cardinals host the Vikings at 8:25PM ET. In somewhat of a surprise, the Cardinals opened as a 7.5-point favorite over the Vikings and that’s where the line currently sits. Arizona is coming off a 27-3 blowout win in St. Louis while Minnesota was crushed 38-7 at home versus Seattle. Following the ugly performance against the Seahawks, Adrian Peterson voiced his displeasure with his role in the offense.
Undefeated Panthers favored by more than a touchdown vs. division rivals.
Two teams heading in opposite directions will square off in Charlotte when the Panthers host NFC South rivals the Falcons at 1:00PM ET on Sunday. With Carolina unbeaten on the season, it opened as a 7.5-point favorite over Atlanta, which has been in a freefall since a 5-0 start. Sitting now at 6-6 on the Falcons, the Falcons have lost five straight games and haven’t covered a point spread in eight start weeks.
