Cardinals vs. Dolphins Prediction
Are the Cardinals a good bet to cover as a small road favorite today against the Dolphins at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dolphins are now 2-point home underdogs after opening as a 2.5-point favorite earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 43.5 and that’s where it currently sits at the majority of online and Vegas sports books.
CARDINALS KEY TRENDS: The Cardinals are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games and they have failed to cover in five of their last six games overall as well. They’re 1-6 at the betting window in their last seven games following a win, are 1-4 ATS in their last five games versus a team with a winning record, and are 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
DOLPHINS KEY TRENDS: Miami has covered in five of its last seven games overall but is just 5-12 against the number in its last 17 home games. The Dolphins are also 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 games versus a team with a losing record, are 1-4 against the number in their last five games coming off an ATS loss, and are 3-7 at the betting window in their last 10 games following a straight up loss.

OUR PREDICTION: As you can read from the “key trends” section, the Cardinals haven’t been very kind to bettors of late. That said, the one positive trend that supports the Cardinals right now is that they’re 5-1 against the spread in their last six games in December. Granted, Bruce Arians has had better teams in the past, but I find it hard to believe that this Arizona squad is going to mail it in down the stretch. Conversely, the Dolphins are 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 games in December and despite having a completely different coaching staff, I simply don’t trust them to finish strong. The Dolphins’ collapse started last week when they played poorly in Baltimore and I don’t think their ugly performance against the Ravens was a one-time aberration.
