Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, today’s game is a pick’em between the Eagles and Rams. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47 after hitting the board at 51.
Who the Public Likes: With just a few hours before kickoff, 66% of the tickets are on the Eagles to cover and 69% of the money is also on Philadelphia.
Who the Trends Like: The Eagles are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against the Rams but the home team has covered in seven of the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
Who We Like: Philadelphia. The Eagles run a similar offense to the Vikings, who gave the Rams trouble in the second half of their game a few weeks ago in Minnesota. Philly plays a ball-control offense that can frustrate a play-caller like Sean McVay, who needs plenty of possessions to get his offensive into a rhythm. Just like Minnesota, Philadelphia also has a nasty defense that is capable of generating a pass-rush with only its front four and forcing Jared Goff to throw passes into tight windows.
The other reason I like the Eagles is because the Rams have had their routine disrupted due to the fires in California this week. After playing last Sunday night in Seattle, the Eagles did stay out west this week but practiced at Angels Stadium in Anaheim and thus were not affected by the fires.
