Colts vs. Texans Free Pick
The Texans can avenge an early-season loss to the Colts and put themselves in first place with a win today in Indianapolis at 1:00PM ET.
The Colts’ stranglehold on the AFC South might be coming to an end. They’ve lost two-straight games and backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, while battled tested and tough, is finally starting to show his age. He’s banged up, dealing with a ribs injury, and was ineffective in the team’s blowout loss to the Jaguars last week.
On the other side, the Texans will also be starting their backup quarterback when T.J. Yates fills in for Brian Hoyer. But despite being a backup, Yates has proven to be competitive when he makes starts for Houston. He was 16-of-34 for 229 yards passing with two touchdowns and no interceptions in a Week 11 spot start against the Jets. In that game, Yates heavily targeted DeAndre Hopkins, who hasn’t topped nine targets in his last three games but should today.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Texans are a 2-point underdog versus the Colts today. It’s unlikely that the number reaches a field goal, but nevertheless there’s still plenty of value taking a Houston team that should win outright.
